How to make a Giant Candy Corn for Halloween

For me, Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays.  I enjoy making fun treats and of course eating them too.  This year I am making many treats all Halloween themed for my YouTube channel.  One of my favorite treats that I have made this year is a Giant Candy Corn.

This giant candy corn is made just like small candy corns but bigger is always better.

Here are the things that you will need:

  • 2 cups of confectionary sugar
  • ¼ cup of dry milk
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2/3 cup of light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • food coloring (Yellow and orange)
  • wax paper or parchment paper or other non-stick materials
Directions:

First, combine the confectionary sugar, dry milk and salt in a large bowl and set aside for later.  Next, in a large pot, add butter, sugar and corn syrup and bring to a boil.  Once it starts to boil, set heat to medium and set timer to boil for 5 minutes stirring the whole time.  Turn off heat and add vanilla extract.  Next, stir in the confectionary sugar, dry milk and salt mixture.  Pour combined mixture into 3 separate bowls.  Add yellow food coloring to one, orange to another and leave the last one uncolored.  Turn out the yellow candy onto a non-stick surface and form the shape of the bottom of a candy corn.  Then form the middle with the orange and the top with the white.

Tips:

*Work quickly as it will harden fast
*clean up as soon as you finish
*Don’t eat is all in one sitting!

Enjoy eating your giant candy corn!  Thanks for reading!  Please be sure to share this recipe with friends and family.
