Funfetti Baked Donuts

Recently someone suggested that I make FunFetti donuts.  I love donuts so of course I was happy to fulfill their request.  I couldn’t decide whether or not to make a cake donut or a fried donut.  I decided on a cake donut for this recipe.  I used a cake box mix to make it super easy.

If you prefer you can make these donuts using any homemade cake recipe of your choice.  You can also make fried donuts instead of the baked donuts.

Ingredients:
     - 1 cake box mix
     - 1 egg
     - 1 cup water
     - 1/4 cup vegetable oil
     - 1/4 cup sprinkles
     - 2 tablespoons melted butter
     - 1 1/2 cups confectionary sugar
     - 1/3 cup milk
     - food coloring

Directions:
  1. Start by adding cake box mix to a large bowl.  Add egg, water, vegetable oil and sprinkles and mix well.  Transfer into a large piping bag and cut a large hole on the tip.
  2. Spray donut pan with cooking spray and fill donut pan with batter half full.
  3. Bake in oven at 350 F for 12-14 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool.
  5. For the icing, melt butter in a medium bowl.  Add confectionary sugar and milk.  Stir well.  Add food coloring if you wish.
  6. When your donuts have cooled, dip them in the icing and add more sprinkles to them.
