How to Make an Easy Chocolate Mug Cake

See how to make an easy chocolate mug cake recipe.

Mug cakes are fun to make and you don’t have to make a huge recipe with lots of cake leftover.  This is perfect for those times when you are having a craving for a piece of cake but don’t have the time to make a whole cake.  

It can be made using all kinds of flavors.  If you are craving chocolate cake, vanilla cake or any other type of cake, you can make it in a hurry.  Best part is that you probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen.

Just use any microwaveable mug and add the ingredients and microwave.

Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips

Frosting
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup confectionary sugar

Directions:
  1. Start by adding flour, sugar, cocoa and salt and mix well. 
  2. Add milk, butter, egg and vanilla extract and mix well. 
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Let cool for 10-15 minutes.
  4. For the frosting, cream butter and peanut butting in a small bowl. Add confectionary sugar a little at a time until you reached the consistence you want. 
  5. Place in piping bag or spoon on top of mug cake and serve.
