Rainbow Cupcake

If you like colorful desserts that taste delicious, you will love rainbow cupcakes.  These delicious treats are fun to make but they do require a bit more time then typical one-color frosting cupcakes. 

To make these start with your favorite cupcake recipe and bake them.  While they are baking, either make your frosting (I used homemade buttercream frosting) or open your store bought frosting.  Then separate the frosting into 5 different bowls.  (Keep in mind that you will need more frosting for the base color then you will need for the top color.  Next, mix food coloring with frosting.  (Gel base food coloring usually gives a brighter color)  When your cupcakes are completely cooled, place base color frosting in a piping bag and start piping.  After piping all your cupcakes with the base color move onto the next color and repeat for each color.
