Candy Corn Cupcakes (Halloween Treats)

October is the perfect time to bake your favorite treats.  Whatever type of treats you like, you can customize them for Halloween.  I love cupcakes.  I made a few different types of cupcakes for this coming Halloween.

I decided to make my frosting resemble candy corn.  That perfect candy treat that symbolizes Halloween.  This was easy to do.

Ingredients:

  • Cupcakes
  • Cupcake frosting white
  • Food coloring
  • Candy corn (optional)
  • Piping bag or plastic bags
Directions:

Simply make your own favorite frosting or buy white store bought frosting.  Then separate the frosting into 3 different containers.  Add yellow food coloring to one of the separated frosting bowls and mix well.  Then add orange food coloring to one of the other bowls of frosting.  Leave the last bowl of frosting white.  Place the yellow frosting in a piping bag.  Cut a large opening and begin to pipe the frosting around the cupcake making 1 full rotation around the cupcake.  Then place the orange frosting in a piping and pipe it on top of the yellow frosting leaving about ¼ of an inch of the bottom color showing.  Then do the same with the white frosting.  If desired, place a real candy corn candy on top of the frosting for decorative design.
