Chocolate Rose Cupcake Bouquet - Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is nearing and you can almost feel the mad scramble of people looking for the perfect gift for their Valentine!

I believe that the best gifts are those that come from the heart.  What says love better than a homemade gift.

A rose cupcake bouquet is the perfect gift because unlike flowers, they don’t die.  You will eat them before they spoil.

Ingredients:
  • Homemade cupcakes
  • Buttercream frosting
  • red food coloring
  • Green fondant
  • Green candy melts or green chocolate
  • baby spinach

Directions:
  1. Start buy baking cupcakes of your choice and allow them to cool.
  2. Mix red food coloring in with the buttercream frosting until it reaches a bright red color.
  3. Place in a piping bag with a Wilton 2D tip and apply frosting to cooled cupcakes starting in the middle and work outwards.
  4. Lay out cupcakes on a plater or dish in a flower pattern.
  5. Roll fondant into long stemlike shapes to form the rose stems.
  6. layout on plater connecting to each cupcake.
  7. Melt candy melts and apply to the back of baby spinach with a food safe brush.
  8. Allow to harden and peel carefully from spinach.
  9. layout the leaves from the fondant stems.

Now just give this to your Valentine and enjoy the goodness that is chocolate and sweets.
