Oreo Cookie Sharks

Shark Week  is upon us again!

Every Summer I look forward to shark week.  It is one week in the Summer when the Discovery channel dedicates all of its programming to sharks.  I love learning about sharks and I enjoy watching the amazing underwater footage.

Last year I made a Shark infested Jell-0 and uploaded it on my YouTube channel.  People loved that video.  So this year I decided to keep with this new tradition and make a shark week recipe.

Ingredients:
  • Oreo Cookies (any type)
  • Colored candy melts (blue, white and brown)
  • plastic bags

Directions:
  1. Start by melting the white candy melts and placing a small amount in a plastic bag.  Cut a small hole in one corner.  Open the Oreo cookies.  Draw a large mouth taking up about half of the Oreo cookie.  Let this dry completely.
  2. Melt blue candy melts in a small bowl.  Dip your Oreo cookies withe the mouths drawn on them into the melted candy.  Be sure not to get any blue inside the mouth area.  Let dry.
  3. Place some of the blue melted candy in a plastic bag and cut a small hole in one corner.  Draw the shark fins and tale onto some wax paper.  Let dry.
  4. After the fins have dried, attach the fins to the Oreo cookies using more blue candy melts.
  5. Melt the brown candy melts again and using a plastic bag, draw 2 eyes on each shark. Let dry.
  6. Then add a small dot of white candy melts to the corner of each eye to give your sharks life.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe and I hope you decide to make it for your family.
