How to Make a Giant Kinder Surprise Egg

See how to make this Giant Kinder Surprise Egg.  Kinder Surprise Eggs are fun hallow chocolate eggs with a capsule inside of them.  The capsule contains a small toy.

To make this giant Kinder Surprise Egg all you need is a large egg mold and some chocolate.  I melted milk chocolate candy melts and white chocolate candy melts.  These work great because you don’t need to temper candy melts like you would have to regular chocolate.

I bought a large egg mold a few months ago when I made a Giant Creme Egg recipe.  I love it when I can reuse tools in other recipes.

Ingredients:
  • 2 packs of milk chocolate candy wafers
  • 1 pack of white chocolate candy wafers
  • Large Egg Mold
  • Small plastic egg
  • something small to put in as a surprise

Directions:
  1. Start by melting milk chocolate and coat your egg mold.  Place in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Remove from refrigerator and do a second coat of milk chocolate.  Place back in refrigerator.
  3. Melt white candy wafers and remove egg from refrigerator and coat the milk chocolate layer with the white chocolate then refrigerate.
  4. Remove egg from refrigerator and then remove from the mold.  Repeat steps 1-3 for your second half of the egg.
  5. Heat a flat pan then place the open ends of your egg halves on the heat for only a few seconds.  This will love the egg halves and melt the ends so you can join them.  Place your surprise inside the small plastic egg and then join the two halves.
  6. I made my own wrapper out of tin foil and paint.  Optional.

If you would like to see how step-by-step how I made it, watch here:
