How to Make a Giant Kit Kat Bar

How to Make a Giant Kit Kat Bar

When it comes to candy bars, nothing is better than a delicious chocolate covered crispy wafer.  One candy bar has perfected this treat.  Kit Kat’s have just the right amount of chocolate to wafer ratio.  I could eat a whole case of them if I wasn’t worried about my waistline.  They are that good!

Lately I have been making a bunch of “Giant recipes".  These are simply recipes of regular foods and desserts that are made in a giant size.  It has been lots of fun making these recipes.  Last week I decided to make a giant Kit Kat bar.

Here is what you will need to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 192 oz milk chocolate (tempered)
  • 2 - 9x11inch wafer sheets
  • large rectangle shaped pot
  • cardboard cut to size
  • plastic for letters
  • wax paper
  • Non toxic glue

Directions:

  1. Start by preparing your rectangle pot as a mold.  Clean and line the pot with wax paper.  If your pot has an uneven bottom, cut cardboard to make it flat.
  2. Cut wafer sheets to fit in your mold.
  3. Now temper your chocolate.  Melt about 32 oz of chocolate.  Then mix in 32 oz of unmelted chocolate to temper it.
  4. Spread chocolate on wafers and stack about 8 high.  Place in refrigerator to firm.
  5. Trace and cutout the letters “Kit Kat” from plastic.
  6. Line the Kit Kat mold with the cutout letters in reverse/upside down order and glue in place.
  7. After the glue sets, temper the remaining chocolate and fill the base of the mold with about an inch of the chocolate.
  8. Remove wafers from refrigerator and place in mold.
  9. Cover the wafers with chocolate and tap the mold on the counter to spread the chocolate.
  10. Let chocolate firm overnight and remove from mold.  Remove the plastic letters and serve.
