Bubble Gum Popcorn | How to Make Candy Popcorn

Looking for a fun way to add flavor to your plain popcorn?  Why not add bubblegum flavoring to your popcorn.  Kid’s love this popcorn!  Maybe it’s the bright pink color or maybe its the flavor packed kernels that entice them?  

Even as an adult I loved eating this popcorn.  After making this, I kept looking for an excuse to walk into my kitchen so that I could eat a handful at a time.  

So on your next movie night surprise your kids with some pink bubblegum popcorn.

Ingredients:   

     - 4 cups popcorn

     - 2 cups sugar

     - 2 tablespoons butter

     - 1/2 cup water

     -1/2 cup light corn syrup

     - 1/2 teaspoon pink food coloring

     -1 dram ( 3.7 ML or .125 FL OZ  ) bubble gum flavoring

Directions:

1. Start by popping fresh popcorn.  After its popped, spread evenly on a large baking sheet (about 4 cups).  Place in the oven at 200 degrees F to keep warm.
2. In a medium pot, add sugar, butter, water, and light corn syrup.  Heat over medium heat while stirring until it comes to a boil.  Stop stirring and let boil for 5 more minutes.  Turn off heat and stir in food coloring and bubble gum flavoring.  This is your candy coating.
3. Remove popcorn from oven and place in a large bowl.  Pour candy coating over popcorn and stir in well.  Turnout coated popcorn onto a baking sheet covered with baking paper.  Bake in a preheated oven for 8 minutes at 250 degrees F.  
4. Remove from oven and break up into smaller pieces.  Fill into serving dishes and enjoy.
