DIY Unicorn Frappuccino

DIY Unicorn Frappuccino

It’s not too late to get your hands on the hottest drink around.  You might have heard that Starbucks introduced a new Unicorn Frappuccino only available for a limited time.  Within days it was sold out at many locations.  If you are unlucky like me, you found yourself not able to try one.  Well, I have good news for you.

You can make your own Unicorn Frappuccino.  This homemade version of the hottest craze around is simple to make.  Most ingredients you probably already have in your pantry with the exception of mango syrup.  This is why I made a special Facebook video showing how to make this Mango Syrup.

If you want to make your own Unicorn Frappuccino, here is what you will need:

Printable ingredient list HERE

Ingredients:
   Frappuccino
     - 2 cups ice
     - 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
     - 1 tsp vanilla extract
     - 1 cup whole milk
     - 1/4 cup sugar
     - pink food coloring
     - 1/2 cup Mango Syrup

   Blue syrup
     - 1 cup sugar
     - 1 cup water
     - 1 tbsp lemon juice
     - 1 tbsp lime juice
     - 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
     - blue food coloring
   topping
     - whipping cream
     - 1 tbsp blue sugar
     - 1 tbsp pink sugar

Directions:
  1. Start by adding ice, vanilla ice cream, vanilla extract, milk, mango syrup, sugar and pink food coloring to a blender. Chop to make the frappuccino.
  2. In a medium pot, add sugar and water and bring to a boil. When it reaches 240 degrees F (soft ball stage) turn off the heat. Let cool slightly.
  3. Add lemon and lime juice and mix in. Then add blue food coloring and sweetened condensed milk. Put in a piping bag and decorate the cup in a zig zag fashion.
  4. Pour your pink frappuccino into the prepared cup.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon sugar to 2 different plastic bags. Add pink food coloring to one bag and mix well then add blue to the other and mix.
  6. Top your frappuccino with whipping cream and sprinkle colored sugar on top.
