Mountain Dew Milkshake
See how to make this Mountain Dew Milkshake at home. This is a Mountain Dew lovers dream dessert. A simple mix of classic milkshake ingredients with a new mix of a soda syrup brings this milkshake to life.
I recently made a bunch of different Mountain Dew soda syrups while making my 3 Flavor Mountain Dew Ice Cream recipe. I figured I could make another awesome dessert using this syrup.
You could use soda to flavor you milkshake instead of the syrup but the flavor will not be as strong.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Mountain Dew
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup ice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup white chocolate
- 1/8 tsp yellow food coloring
- 1 cup Doritos
- 1 pinch green sprinkles
- 1/4 cup Whip cream
- 1/8 tsp food coloring
Directions:
1 Start by bringing Mountain Dew to a boil for about 10-15 minutes in a heavy bottom pan until it reaches 225 degrees F. Let cool. This is your syrup.
2 Prepare your cup by melting white chocolate and coloring it yellow with gel based food coloring. Then dip the rim of the cup in the chocolate. Crush Doritos in a bag and put in a bowl. Dip the chocolate rimmed cup into the Doritos. Put the remaining chocolate in a bag and cut a small hole to line the cups walls.
3 In a blender add ice cream, whole milk, ice, vanilla extract and green food coloring. Blend until well combined.
4 Pour into prepared cup and top with whip cream, sprinkles and garnish with Doritos.
