Rice Krispie Christmas Wreaths

The holidays are my favorite time of the year.  I love to bake and make exciting desserts for the occasion.  Some of the fun things I like to make are Rice Krispie treats.  These are easy to make and almost everyone loves them.

I like to make my Rice Krispies more festive than standard Rice Krispie treats.  This year I decided to form them into Christmas wreaths.

If you want to brighten up your holiday with these treats, here is what you will need:

Ingredients:

·        6 cups of Rice Krispie cereal
·        3 table spoons of butter
·        1- 10oz package of marshmallows
·        green food coloring
·        red M&M’s
·        red icing

Directions:

Start by melting butter in a large pan on medium heat.  When butter is melted, add marshmallows.  Stir until completely melted.  Turn off heat.  Add food coloring and stir.  Add Rice Krispies and stir.  While still warm, roll about a 3 inch ball of Rice Krispies between your hands until it forms a snake-like shape.  (Tip: use cooking spray on your hands to keep the Rice Krispies from sticking)  Connect the 2 ends of the snake-like shape to each other and place on non-stick surface to cool.  Use 3 M&M’s to decorate the wreath like holly.  Then use icing to form a bow at the top.

Your friends and family will love eating these this holiday season.  Thanks for watching!
