Christmas Tree Brownies

The holidays are a great time to turn your favorite desserts into fun decorative treats.  Something simple to do is to decorate homemade brownies like Christmas trees.  This is a fun activity for children and they will love eating their creations. 

Ingredients:

• 1 box of brownie mix and all ingredients the box calls for
• decorative icing (I used red and green)
• candy canes
• optional (sprinkles)

Directions:

Start by preparing your brownie mix.  Place mix into a 13 x 9 inch pan.  Bake according to instructions.  Allow to cool for 20-30 minutes.  Cut brownies into triangles.  Remove the curl part of a few candy canes.  Insert the straight candy cane into the bottom of brownie.  Apply icing to brownie in your favorite pattern.  If you want to add sprinkles, now would be the time to do so.
