Lego Cake

With the Lego movie recently released, many people are interested in Lego’s again.  I decided to bake a Lego cake for this occasion.  This is a very easy cake to make.  It doesn’t matter how much baking experience you have, you can bake this cake too.

Ingredients:
  • 2 boxes of cake mix (any kind will do)
  • Ingredients that the cake mix calls for (don’t forget to double it because you are using 2 boxes)
  • 2 containers of cake frosting
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • food coloring (3 different colors)

Directions:
In a large bowl mix your 2 boxes of cake mix with their ingredients.  Pour into a greased 13x9 inch pan.  Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45-50 minutes.  Allow cake to cool for at least 30 minutes then remove from pan.  Cut the cake in half then cut 1 half of the cake so that you have a 1/3 piece and a 2/3 piece.  Separate frosting and add food coloring.  Apply a skim coat of frosting to the cake and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.  Remove from refrigerator and apply a finish frosting coat.  Cut marshmallows in half and dip them in frosting.  Place them on top of the cake to represent the knobs of the Lego brick.

I hope you enjoy this cake and I hope you try to make one on your own.
