Shark Filled Jell-O

This week is my favorite week of summer.  It’s Shark Week!  Shark Week is the time each year that the Discovery Channel airs shark related footage on their channel.  Most of which is very educations and encourages preservation of sharks for future generations to enjoy these massive creatures.

I decided to make a shark infested Jello dish to celebrate Shark Week.  This was probably the simplest recipe I have made and the most fun.  If you wish to make this dish, you will find that it is cheap to make too.  You can make this for under $5 with the basics of Jello and Gummy Sharks.  If you want your dish to be more elaborately decorated you can do so for under $10.

Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces of Jello
  • 2 packages of Gummy Sharks
  • 10 graham crackers (optional)
  • Cocktail umbrellas (optional)
  • Chocolate bar (optional)
  • Gummy LifeSavers (optional)

Directions:
  1. Start by boiling 4 cups of water. (this amount is according to the directions on the Jello package)
  2. Empty Jello packages into a large bowl.
  3. Pour boiling water over Jello powder and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Add required cold water to  Jello.
  5. Pour Jello into a serving dish or individual dishes.
  6. Place a few gummy sharks into the Jello
  7. Place dish in refrigerator for an hour then remove and add more gummy sharks to the top by gently pushing them into the Jello.
  8. Place back in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
  9. Prepare graham crackers by crushing them to a fine consistency.
  10. Remove from refrigerator and add crushed graham crackers to 1/3 of the dish.
  11. Decorate the dish with 2 umbrellas through the sand (graham crackers), chocolate bars and Life Savers.

I hope you enjoy Shark Week as much as I do.  If you decide to make this dish, you can see how I made my dish here:
