Halloween is the perfect time to get creative with your food. When everyone else is simply making the same old boring desserts, you can wow them with fun recipes that I teach you how to make. I have many ideas on how to make a cheesecake perfect for Halloween, so I decided to make one here.
Ingredients:
Crust
- 1 1/2 cups of Graham crackers
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
Filling
- 2 - 8oz packages of softened cream cheese
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
- 2/3 cup of sugar
Other
- Orange food coloring
- Oreo cookies
- Cookie cutter
- paper plate
Directions:
- Start by putting about 10 graham crackers in a food processor or blender and grinding them into fine pieces.
- Transfer into a large bowl and add brown sugar and combine.
- Mix in melted butter and transfer into a pie pan and press evenly.
- Place in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
- In a clean large bowl blend softened cream cheese and lemon juice.
- Add heavy whipping cream and mix until thick then add in sugar.
- Put a small amount of filling into a small bowl and add food coloring to it.
- Grease your cookie cutter on both sides.
- Pull out your hardened crust from the refrigerator and place your cookie cutter in the center of the crust.
- Fill the cookie cutter with the colored filling.
- Then fill the remainder filling on top of the pie.
- Remove the cookie cutter to hold the shape of the pumpkin and refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
- Crush some Oreo cookies in a food processor.
- cut out a pumpkin face out of paper or paper plate.
- Place paper plate over the cheesecake so that the cut out is over the pumpkin.
- sprinkle the crushed Oreo’s over the cut outs.
That’s it. Now keep refrigerated until ready to serve. You can top with your favorite fruit to add to the flavor. I like cherries but your choice.
