Churros are an amazingly delicious dessert on it’s own. But when you add the goodness of Oreo cookies, it really takes them to the next level. So I decided to combine these two desserts to make the ultimate dessert. Oreo Churros.
Ingredients:
- 20 Oreo cookies
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tablespoons Oreo crumbs
- 10 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions:
- Separate the cream from 20 Oreo cookies and crumble in a food processor.
- In a medium pot, add water, butter, brown sugar and salt then bring to a boil over medium heat.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup Oreo crumbs and cinnamon.
- Add boiled mixture to dry mixture and stir well. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
- Place in a piping bag and pipe your churros on some wax paper. Freeze until ready to fry.
- Make your sugar coating by combining sugar and the remainder of the Oreo crumbs.
- Bring oil to 350 degrees and fry churros for 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and immediately coat with sugar/Oreo dusting.
- Serve immediately.
