As a YouTube chef I have made many recipes. When I was requested to make a Banoffee pie a few weeks ago, I was open to the challenge. I have never made a Banoffee pie before which is strange since it has ingredients that I find appealing.
After a few tweaks I figured out how I wanted to make the toffee part of the pie. Since I try to make recipes as easy as possible so others will not be intimidated. Of course my ultimate goal is that everyone can make these recipes in their own homes and share them with the people they love.
Here is what you will need:
Ingredients:
- 18 graham crackers
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 14 oz Sweetened condensed Milk
- 2 bananas
- 8oz cool whip
- dusting of coco
Directions:
- Start by crushing the graham crackers into small crumbs. Add melted butter and mix well. Turnout into a pie dish and press the crumbs into the pan and up the sides. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until crust becomes firm.
- In a medium sauce pan, add brown sugar and butter and heat on the stove until the sugar is just about dissolved. Then mix in the sweetened condensed milk and boil for 3-5 minutes. Let it cool for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove your crust from the refrigerator and pour in the contents from the sauce pan. Level off and place in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
- Cut up 2 bananas into thin slices. Remove the pie from the refrigerator and add the cut bananas to the top. Add a layer of cool whip to the top of the banana layer. Top with some coco or shaved chocolate and enjoy.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe and I hope you decide to make it for yourself.
