Mint Green Pie

Homemade pies are desserts that warm the heart.  See how to make this Mint Green Pie from scratch.  There is nothing like eating a homemade pie.  Whether it is cherry, apple or any other pie…I can’t get enough pie.  For me, the crust makes or breaks the pie.  I am all about the crust.  I like a very thick and sweet crust.

When I decided to make a pie that would be both visually attractive as well as taste amazing, I decided on a Mint Pie with an Oreo crust.  I could've just made the pie with the crust on the bottom but as I mentioned earlier, I love the crust.  So I decided to make a high sided crust and a very thick one at that.

This recipe can be made with a thinner crust if that is your preference.

Here is what you will need:

Ingredients:
   Crust
     - 1(x2) Packs of Oreos
     - Green sprinkles (Optional)
     - 5(x2) Tablespoons melted butter
   Filling
     - 1 cup whole milk
     - 1-10.5 oz bag marshmallows
     - 1 teaspoon mint extract
     - 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring
     - 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
     - about 10 mint chocolate candies

If you would like to see step-by-step how I made this, watch here:

I hope you enjoyed this recipe.  Please feel free to share this with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
