Christmas cookies are the best cookies to make. They seem to taste better than cookies we make at other times of the year. I believe they taste better because we usually make them with family and it is the time we spend with family that makes everything taste better.
I have made cookies in the past that look like cups with my Christmas cookie cups recipe but these cookies are especially festive.
Here is what you need to make them:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- mini candy canes
- large marshmallows
- sprinkles
- melted chocolate
- mini marshmallows
- 1 cup confectionary sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup water
Directions:
- Start with a large bowl and add butter & sugar then blend. Mix in egg and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl combine flour, baking flour and salt.
- Slowly mix in wet mixture to dry mixture. Turnout dough on plastic wrap and wrap tightly. Place in refrigerator for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles with cookie cutters. Bake in oven at 350 for 7-9 minutes then let cool.
- Make royal icing by mixing confectionary sugar, vanilla and water. Apply icing to cookies and place a large marshmallow on each.
- Melt chocolate and apply to top of marshmallow. Cut mini marshmallows into 4’s and place 3 cut pieces on the top of the chocolate. Affix sprinkle to marshmallows.
